WK&T crews spent last week preparing the first of six small buildings in downtown Martin that will contain vital systems needed to bring fiber optic-based services online.
Crews also placed about 10 miles of underground pipe that will connect the remote building behind the new WK&T office at 207 South Lindell Street to the edge of the city limits.
This week, crews will pull fiber optic cable through the underground pipes. Also, equipment and electronics will be installed at the remote building.
The WK&T office is set to open in July. This will not only be an office space for employees working on the project but also be a customer service center. You will be able to sign up for service, find out about new offerings, pay your bill and get technical support.
By mid-July, some customers on North Lindell Street on the north side of Martin should be ready to connect to fiber.
