Fiber optic cable, tiny glass wires capable of moving vast amounts of data, will soon arrive in areas near Martin Middle School and Martin Assembly of God on the west side of town. Crews are installing underground pipe and preparing to pull fiber optic cable.
Meanwhile, work continues in an area from North Lindell Street toward the city limits, where a sales representative continues to visit homes to sign up customers for the high-speed fiber internet. Most of the locations in the north part of the city will be ready for connections within a few weeks.
WK&T’s new office in Martin is open and staffed with a customer service representative. The office is at 207 S. Lindell St.
At the office, customers can sign up for fiber internet, find out about new services, pay bills, receive technical support or learn more about the fiber project in their city.
WK&T Telecommunications has a collaborative project with the city of Martin to build a cutting-edge fiber optic network within the city limits during the next several months. The project ties the city of Martin to WK&T’s existing fiber network in Fulton.
