The Fiber for Martin project welcomes the first customer to receive fast broadband internet service from WK&T.
The initial customer was connected on Wednesday and the second on Thursday. Welcome to WK&T’s network!
Work is complete and fiber is connected for service in the first zone of the Fiber for Martin project. A sales representative will continue to knock on doors to sign up customers in zone one, which is on the north side of town.
Work is now beginning in zone two, on the west side of town in the area near University Street and the boundary of the city limits.
WK&T crews will continue the work needed to install about 15 miles of underground pipe for fiber optic cable.
Also, WK&T’s new office in Martin has been open since July 24. A customer service representative staffs the office at 207 S. Lindell St. as part of the Fiber for Martin project. Opening of the office marked the connection of fiber in Martin to the rest of WK&T’s network.
At the office, customers can sign up for fiber internet, find out about new services, pay bills and receive technical support.
WK&T Telecommunications has a collaborative project with the city of Martin to build a cutting-edge fiber optic network within the city limits during the next 12 to 18 months. The project ties the city of Martin to WK&T’s existing network in Fulton.
